One of many road bases used by the Swedish air force during the cold war, a so called Bas90. This one is situated along road 363, just north of the small village of Ã…msele in northern Sweden.Â
A Bas90 base consists of one main strip – this one is sold to a civil company – and three side-strips, many times extended ordinary roads. Bold black are the strips, black is roads made to connect the base. Red is ordinary roads, at many places with depot for the planes. North S1 - the road going up a small hill to the northern short strip. Lots of space on the sides. South S1 - depot for the planes south of S1. Depot for the planes south of S1.

End of S2 - as S2 is on an ordinary road the signs to warn for narrower road at the end is necessary.
Taxi roads - just east of the southern end of the main strip these are taxi roads that combine the main strip with the road to S2.
