A short trip to Helsinki during the week turned out to be something of a military history tour as well, by coincident.
The start was that we stayed at the hotel Torni, where I met the author and friend Ove Enqvist for the first time in real life. We discussed future trips together in Finland. He also told me that the Soviet commanders of Helsinki and Finland occupied that hotel and turned that into their supreme central between 1944 and 1947.
After a business meeting we had a few hours before the plane back to Sweden and we visited a subterranean church, probably one of a kind!
Even a subterranean church needs shelters. The basement contained a civil defence shelter.
We ended with our companions in Finland at a conference hotel and when we waited for the cars afterwards I found this text on the wall.
