How to book: Seats are limited, 11 in total – send me a mail on lars(@)bunkertours.se. When I have said OK to join, book flights and prove that you have booked a flight or send a deposit. We’ll split costs between us during the trip.
Note: The itiniary can be changed a bit if interest is lower than expected and if Falkenhagen shows to be more expensive than told. Tempelhof demands booking without cancellation, payment up front and can run out of tours before I see the demand of the trip.
Itiniary
27 February
Arrival from your home and meet at Brandeburg airport. Rental of two cars, one minibus for max 8 people and a sedan car, VW Passat or similar for max 4 people. En route latest 13:00 for a tour start at Wunsdorf at 13:30. Note! This guide may be in German.
After 2,5 hours and 4 bunkers, 2 German and 2 Soviet, we continue with a 1h drive to our hotel for the night. (See Hotel close to Falkenhagen).
28 February
Day starts with 4-5 hours underground in the woods outside Falkenhagen. Here the Germans built a 3-4 story bunker for Sarin production, that later was Cold War addapted by the Soviets, that added at least one floor and also built a secret town in the woods. Remains of blocks of flats and other buildings are still there.
To the second visit there is a 1h drive and on the way we’ll stop at the Seelow heights were a fearce battle was held for three days in mid-april 1945. Next visit will be the Wollenberg bunker, visited by the Swedish military accademy every year for studies, for a 2,5h tour. Note! This guide will be in German.
Ready around 6pm we’ll have a 1h drive back to the airport the leave the rental cars and take public transports into city centre and the AC Berlin Homboldthain hotel.
1 March
A 09:00 start very close to the hotel with Berliner unterwelten Tour 1 – Dark Worlds for 1,5h. With only 30min rest we’ll then do the Tour 3 – Bunkers, Subways and the Cold War. NOTE! All their tours have a photo forbidden.
Leaving these two tours at 12:30 the afternoon are a bit open yet. Hopefully we can combine two tours of Tempelhof into a 4h guided walk in and under this impressive old airport. If that shows to be impossible we’ll look at the Holmboldthain Flak tower (tour inside are not possible at this time of the year due to bats) and general tourist stuff.
Same hotel as last night.
2 March
A 09:30 start again close to the hotel, for the Tour M – Under the berlin Wall, lasting 2h followed by a 2h rest/tourist time before the last Tour D – Tunnel and Bunker Dresdener Straße ending at 15:20. Unfortunatelly, the attempts to add the extra tour of 150 min where you wade in 80 cm water is only accessible for German speaking people, due to security!
Back to the hotel to pick up bags and take the 40 min subway out to the airport to return home.
